A Day Retreat for Mothers – Return to Yourself

A sanctuary for rest, gentle movement, play and creative renewal.

Sunday 16th August
10:00am – 4:00pm
A beautiful farm in Basingstoke

To step away from the noise. To remember the inner child and the inner teenager. To soothe the body. To hear your own voice. To remember Allah. To return to yourself.

Why This Retreat Matters

Motherhood asks so much of us. In the constant giving, it’s easy to lose sight of the woman beneath the responsibilities.

Whether you’re feeling exhausted, disconnected, or simply longing for a day to pause, this retreat is an invitation to return to yourself through faith, nature, creativity and rest.

Inspired by the hadith, “Your body has rights over you,” we’ll gently explore what it means to care for ourselves as an act of worship, not because we’ve earned it, but because Allah entrusted these bodies, hearts and minds to us.

Together we’ll slow down, reconnect with the parts of ourselves that are often overlooked, and remember that returning to ourselves doesn’t require a dramatic life change. Sometimes it begins with the smallest acts of self-tending.

Leave feeling rested, nourished and reminded that there are always gentle ways to come back to yourself, again and again.

What the Day Includes

Throughout the day, we’ll move through a gentle rhythm of slowing down, reflection, creativity and rest.

You’ll experience:

  • A warm welcome in a beautiful countryside setting with a calming elderflower spritz and connection.
  • Gentle reflections on self-tending through an Islamic perspective.
  • A guided tour of the vegetable garden and peaceful mindful walks in nature.
  • Reflection on the Beautiful Names of Allah to accompany your day.
  • Simple body-kindness practices and guided journaling.
  • A creative flower altar workshop using seasonal flowers grown at the farm and natural treasures.
  • A nourishing organically grown vegetarian lunch shared around the table.
  • A restorative guided meditation and rest session.
  • A closing reflection circle, tea and a thoughtfully curated goody bag to take home.

This isn’t a day of rushing from one activity to the next. It’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect with yourself and remember that caring for yourself can be simple, gentle and deeply meaningful.

Continuing the Journey Home

Whether this retreat is your first step towards self-tending, a gentle return after life has pulled you away from your own needs, or simply a chance to step away from the noise and enjoy a peaceful day of rest and connection, this day is for you.

My hope is that you leave with the reminder that caring for yourself isn’t an indulgence, it is an act of worship. That Allah has entrusted you with a body, heart soul worthy of care and no matter how chaotic life gets there are always ways to come back yourself.

This retreat isn’t about escaping everyday life or becoming a different version of you. It’s about remembering the simple ways we can hold ourselves: a quiet walk, a whispered du’a, a moment of stillness, creating with our hands, or simply noticing the beauty Allah has placed around us.

The retreat may end, but the journey home to yourself continues, through small, gentle moments of care, again and again.
